Change Of A Dress first opened in the Fall of 2008 in the Coastal Community of Los Osos, California. Originally opened by friends and neighbors Diana Gabriel and Suzanne Clover, this small store was a place for the local community to shop and consign/resell higher end items. The little boutique gave women a local shop nearby and eliminated the need to trek far to receive a little retail therapy. Change Of A Dress successfully maintained and grew the Los Osos location and opened a second boutique in San Luis Obispo in 2012. Maintaining two successful stores proved to leave little time for both friends and partners to have family and R&R time, so they closed the quaint first location and focused all attention to the SLO store. In 2015, Diana Gabriel took over the SLO location and true to it's name, Change of A Dress, changed addresses, relocated and expanded from their charming Morro Street location and moved to the NEW and IMPROVED Marsh Street boutique!
If you haven't had a chance to come by the first two stores, hope you find your way into the new shop soon!
Who We Are
Diana Gabriel is a San Luis Obispo native. Growing up in Los Osos, California (AKA the Garage Sale Capital of The World), she went on many Saturday adventures with her dad in search of more fishing gear to add to his ever growing collection of rods and reels. Her dad still to this day adds to this VAST collection. Diana, loves to find those hidden treasures of the Central Coast. She absolutely can't resist, garage sales, thrift stores, swap meets and on the side of the road scores. Loving both fashion and tchotchkes, she curates Change Of A Dress into a quirky, beautiful collection of clothing and items for the home.
Suzanne Clover grew up with vintage and antiques in her family home. Being surrounded by beautiful handmade walnut furniture made by her grandfather, she has a more thoughtful and classic style, she has a love of simplistic time honored pieces. This love carries also into her personal style, a combination of tailored lines and timeless style. Suzanne has an eye for woods with dove tails and old lead mirrors. She also can be found shopping antique stores, hitting garage sales and picking up old milk glass and Tiffany style lamps at flea markets with Diana.
The combination of these two women, have made Change Of A Dress a place for all women to find something unusual and lovely to add to their own personal collection of treasures.
